With the season now at an end, two star players for Seattle underwent offseason surgeries to take care of lingering ailments.
According to a news release from the Mariners on Monday, starting catcher Cal Raleigh underwent a left shoulder AC debridement procedure at the University of Washington medical center Saturday. The operation was performed by Dr. Albert Gee.
Starting first baseman Josh Naylor underwent a triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC) repair surgery, also at UW medical center on Saturday, that was performed by Dr. Jerry Huang.
Both players are expected to be ready by the beginning of 2027 spring training, per the news release.

Raleigh's operation was an arthroscopic procedure that is used to clean out debris near the AC joint. The procedure can clean out bone spurs, inflamed tissue or damaged cartilage.
Naylor's surgery typically repairs tears in the triangular fibrocartilage complex, which is the group of cartilage the pinky finger-side of the wrist.
Raleigh's season was mired with injuries from the onset. The 2025 American League MVP runner-up attempted to play through an oblique injury he suffered in spring training after returning from competing for Team USA in the 2026 World Baseball Classic.
The 29-year-old was on the injured list from May 14-June 16 with the right oblique strain.

The former Platinum Glove winner finished his season with a slash line of .182/.296/.368 with a .664 OPS in 126 games. He hit 15 doubles and 23 home runs with 69 RBIs. His OPS was the lowest in a single season in his career since his rookie year in 2021.
Raleigh started to play up to his typical level in the final month of the season. In his last 30 games, he slashed .255/.362/.564 and hit nine homers with 22 RBIs.
This season was Naylor's first after signing a five-year, $92.5 million deal this offseason. He competed for his native country, Canada, in the WBC.
Naylor avoided a stint on the injured list this year, but was given days off multiple times due to his wrist issues, which looked to be persistent across the majority of his season.
