Panthers bring back rookie DB after practice-squad poaching on Tuesday
The Carolina Panthers had to fill yet another vacancy on their practice squad this afternoon.
As announced on Tuesday, cornerback Kalen King has been signed away to the Arizona Cardinals ' active roster. The 22-year-old defender was on his second stint with the Panthers' practice squad.
King, a seventh-round pick of the Green Bay Packers from the 2024 NFL draft, is now the third Carolina practice-squad member to be poached in the last week—joining running back DeeJay Dallas ( Jacksonville Jaguars ) and outside linebacker Jeremiah Moon ( Pittsburgh Steelers ). The Panthers have also lost defensive lineman Sam Roberts ( Atlanta Falcons ) and offensive lineman Jarrett Kingston ( Houston Texans ) from earlier in the season.
To fill King's spot, the Panthers have brought back rookie cornerback Michael Reid. Reid first joined the team as an undrafted free agent this past spring, and stayed on with their practice squad until October.
