The Carolina Panthers are giving a former first-round pick a look.
According to Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer , the team is bringing in offensive lineman Kenyon Green for a tryout during this weekend's rookie minicamp. Panthers Statement (@JT_Statement on Twitter/X) was first with news of the invite on Thursday afternoon.
A two-time consensus All-American and first-team All-SEC selection, Green was taken with the 15th overall pick of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Houston Texans . He'd go on to make 23 starts over 27 outings for the Texans through the 2024 campaign, with all of his 1,405 offensive snaps coming at left guard.
Houston then traded Green and a 2025 fifth-round pick to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson and a 2025 sixth-rounder at the start of the previous league year. The 6-foot-4, 323-pounder, who also went on to pick up a stint on the Baltimore Ravens ' practice squad, did not appear in a regular-season contest in 2025.
