Davis—6-foot-2 and 202 pounds—split his six collegiate campaigns between Brigham Young University (2020 to 2024) and Utah State University (2025). He amassed 90 carries for 486 yards and a pair of touchdowns over his five seasons at BYU before recording 131 rushing attempts for 731 yards and eight scores over 13 games at Utah State.
Malone—6-foot-4 and 309 pounds—played for the University of Mississippi (2021 to 2022) and Ohio State University (2023 to 2025). He totaled 52 combined tackles (3.5 for a loss), 2.0 sacks and four passes defensed, and was a part of the Buckeyes' 2024 national championship squad.
To make room for Davis and Malone, the Panthers waived-injured running back Montrell Johnson Jr . and tight end Bryce Pierre.
