The Carolina Panthers may be adding to their wideout room following Wednesday's setback to standout rookie Chris Brazzell II.
According to Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer , the Panthers plan to sign receiver Casey Washington .
A Round Rock, Texas native, Washington played his entire five-year collegiate career at the University of Illinois. Over 55 games there, he amassed 122 receptions for 1,508 yards and four touchdowns.
Washington would go on to be selected in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons . The six-foot, 205-pounder has since recorded seven catches for 108 yards in 15 outings—including a pair of starts in 2025.
His addition would come in light of the this morning's injury to 2026 third-round pick Chris Brazzell II—who, according to Joe Person of The Athletic , sustained a moderate LCL tear of his left knee.
Update (3:57 p.m. ET): The Panthers have officially announced the addition of Washington. To make room, they've placed wide receiver Dan Chisena on injured reserve.
