In Charlotte, it's death, taxes and JJ Jansen with the snap.
As announced on Tuesday morning, the Carolina Panthers have re-signed Jansen on a one-year deal. The longtime long snapper is now set to enter his 18th season with the organization.
Carolina acquired Jansen in a trade with the Green Bay Packers back in 2009. Since then, he's earned a Pro Bowl selection (2013) and has been a part of four division-winning teams (2013, 2014, 2015 and 2025).
Jansen made his intentions of an 18th year clear ahead of the Panthers' wild-card matchup against the Los Angeles Rams last month.
"I've never had a doubt," Jansen stated, per Darin Gantt of Panthers.com . "I've sort of told myself for a while now that I want to be part of it again. I was a part of the John Fox era, the Ron Rivera all the way through the Super Bowl run, and even the wild card in '17, that was still the same team.
"And I've always said I wanted to be a part of one more full run all the way up. So now, we'll see how long we can make this run go, hopefully it ends in four wins. But this team's still got a lot of climbing to do, and it's a good group, and I want to be a part of the full climb."
The 40-year-old Jansen holds the franchise record for most games played at 277. He took that crown from former kicker John Kasay, when registering his 222nd appearance late in the 2022 season.
