"Hearing that the Florida Panthers are getting close to acquiring Brady Tkachuk from the Ottawa Senators . I believe Ottawa will get three first-round picks and a second-round pick in the deal if finalized. More to come," LeBrun reported.
Moments later, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman confirmed the deal , "9 & 25 this year, first 2029 and a second in 2030."
LeBrun reported that the Senators asked for Anton Lundell in the return package, but were denied. He also broke that the Stanley Cup Finalists, the Vegas Golden Knights and Carolina Hurricanes , were in talks to acquire Tkachuk. The Minnesota Wild were also a finalist.
This comes just hours after the Panthers picked up a first-round pick for Mackie Samoskevich . The trade involves the ninth overall pick, which is the Panthers' selection, and the 25th overall pick, which they got from the Seattle Kraken in the Samoskevich deal. Florida also parts with its 2029 first-rounder.

Brady and Matthew Tkachuk burst onto the national scene together at the 4 Nations Face-Off. Fight Night in Montreal made them household names across the country, and now they'll play together. Trade rumors around Tkachuk have swirled for a long time, but the Panthers connection ramped up then. Add a gold medal to the mix, and the Brady-to-Florida pipeline was opened.
The Panthers were already light on first-round picks, but now they are really all-in on the present. The Tkachuks will set out to bring a third Stanley Cup to South Florida in September, while the Senators head into another rebuild.
ClutchPoints will have more on the Tkachuk trade and all of the action headed into the NHL Draft.
