Pat McAfee attended a recent event organised by Tyrese Haliburton, where he was left very impressed by an Indiana Fever player.
Haliburton hosted the 'Pacers Foundation Charity Softball Classic' over the weekend and had many notable Indiana-based athletes make an appearance, including former NFL kicker Pat McAfee.
McAfee won the hearts of fans while on the Colts and now hosts one of the most popular shows in the world, where he spotlighted one of Caitlin Clark 's unsung Fever teammates he met at Haliburton's event.
Pat McAfee highlights Michelle Onyiah from the Fever after watching her softball skills
McAfee discussed Haliburton's softball event on his show, specifically highlighting Fever's Michelle Onyiah for being one of the most impressive players of the evening.
"Absolutely smashed one opposite way. Asked her afterward if she ever played softball, and she was like, 'No, just natural ability.' She steals the night… I am thinking Michelle Onyiah is someone we need to be watching."
Portnoy also saw a clip of Onyiah dunking and was mesmerised by the ease of her completing that play.
Onyiah has not played a role for the Fever this season, only making one garbage-time appearance against the Sky earlier this week.
She signed with the team on July 31 on a player developmental contract, and the 23-year-old might be a future frontcourt presence for the franchise with her natural athleticism.

She averaged 8.3 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks on 54.0% from the field over her college career, leading the ACC in field goal percentage (60.3%) and finishing second in double-doubles (8) during her final season.
She left the program fifth all-time in career blocks (143) and sixth in career field goal percentage.
Onyiah has played top-level basketball in Belgium this season for the Basket Namur Capitale, where she averaged 11.1 points and 8.4 rebounds per game.
The 23-year-old, according to McAfee, also works as an engineer outside the WNBA. If she finds success in the league, she likely will focus full-time on her basketball dreams.
