Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany Mahomes, are one of the biggest power couples in the NFL in 2025.
This Thanksgiving, the three-time Super Bowl champion will play on the road against Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys for the first time in his career.

The game at AT&T Stadium on Thursday marks a return to Mahomes' home state of Texas, where the love story with his high school sweetheart, then known as Brittany Matthews, began.
Patrick and Brittany, who got married in 2022 and have three children together, have been together since 2012. The real story goes further back, though, and it was not always smooth.

How Patrick Mahomes Met His Wife Brittany Mahomes
The future Kansas City Current co-owner and NFL star were friends for "a long time" before they started dating at Whitehouse High School.

"There were a couple of times when I tried to get out of the friend zone, and it didn't work," the Chiefs quarterback admitted in ESPN's "The Kingdom" documentary, which captured the 2024 NFL season.
Romantic sparks started flying when he gave her a rose on Valentine's Day his sophomore year of high school in 2012, but Mahomes still considers her his " best friend " to this day.
Brittany and Patrick Mahomes Have Three Children
Fast forward and Brittany has gone from, in Patrick's words, "Best prom date a guy could ask for," to the mother of their three kids.

"Who knew 12 years later we would be where we are at!" Brittany said on Instagram last year, recreating a viral photo of them as teenagers.
Brittany had her most recent baby , daughter Golden Raye Mahomes, in January 2025. "Goldie" joined the growing family that includes three-year-old son Patrick Lavon "Bronze" Mahomes III and four-year-old daughter Sterling Sky Mahomes.
Overcoming Relationship Challenges and Public Criticism
In the decade-plus that they have been together, there have been obstacles. They faced the challenges of a long distance relationship when Brittany went to play college soccer at University of Texas Tyler , turning it into a brief professional career with UMF Afturelding/Fram in Iceland.

Patrick committed to play football for the Texas Tech Red Raiders in Lubbock, before being drafted by Kansas City with the No. 10 overall pick of the 2017 NFL Draft. Early in his career, the young quarterback got unwanted attention from other women — a struggle his wife has been open about having to overcome early in their relationship.
Brittany has drawn public scrutiny for her associations with Donald Trump , Taylor Swift and even Patrick's little brother, Jackson Mahomes . Her steadfast confidence through it all is one of the things her high school sweetheart says he admires most about her.
"People are going to love you or hate you, but finding your values and what makes you 'you' to be the best version of yourself is what really matters," Brittany said when she debuted for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit in 2024.

From High School Love Story to Super Bowl Success
The Chiefs power couple has come a long way, but the key to their commitment has been remaining the same people they were way back at the lunch table at Whitehouse on Valentine's Day.
"I have a great wife. I think that helps out a ton. She helps me out a ton by taking stuff off my plate," Patrick told People in 2023 . "I have great people around me and I can be Patrick Mahomes. I can be myself, the same person I've grown up being — and luckily that's won a couple of Super Bowls."
