KANSAS CITY, Mo. — It appears that Patrick Mahomes is continuing to rehab successfully from his torn ACL and LCL he suffered last season.
Mahomes participated in the Chiefs first day of OTAs on Tuesday, and was out on the field dropping back and throwing passes. The team even posted Mahomes in action on their social media accounts.

It is unclear in what capacity Mahomes participated in OTAs, but him being on the field is certainly a positive sign. He was wearing a brace that covered his entire left leg.
Earlier this month, Chiefs General Manager Brett Veach stated Mahomes was ahead of schedule and Head coach Andy Reid said Mahomes hasn’t suffered any setbacks.
The Chiefs open their season on Sept. 14 against the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football, which is just a day before Mahomes will have reached the nine-month recovery timetable for his injury he suffered against the LA Chargers on Dec. 14, 2025. He underwent surgery the following day, before almost immediately beginning rehab.
He also posted himself throwing the football on his Instagram story back in March.

The two-time MVP has made it abundantly clear he wants to play Week 1 when the Chiefs take on the defending AFC West champs.
Mahomes has been doing a majority of his rehab with Chiefs assistant athletic trainer Julie Frymyer and has been relentless during the process.
