- Patriots DT Cory Durden snubbed in Team of Week after breakout game
New England Patriots defensive tackle Cory Durden put together an outstanding performance against the Miami Dolphins in Week 8 and was among the most effective performers across the league.
However, he continues to get overlooked.

Pro Football Focus left Durden off its Team of the Week for Week 8. It's disappointing considering his consistent pressure against Dolphins quarterback Malik Willis and disruption of Miami's offense made his performance one deserving of recognition.
Durden finished the game with 1.5 sacks, three quarterback hits and two tackles for loss. His production demonstrated his ability to make plays and create problems in the pass rush.
Cincinnati Bengals defensive tackle B.J. Hill and Carolina Panthers defensive tackle Derrick Brown received the two interior defensive line selections over Durden. Hill recorded three tackles, a pass breakup and a quarterback hit, while Brown finished with three tackles and a tackle for loss. Although both had productive outings, Durden's pass-rushing numbers made his omission difficult to overlook.
Despite the omission, Durden will get his next opportunity to have a big game in Week 9 against the Green Bay Packers. Another strong performance might garner him Team of the Week honors next week.
