New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel is very familiar with Miami Dolphins quarterback Malik Willis.
He was still with the Tennessee Titans when Willis was drafted there in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He played under Vrabel for two seasons before he was traded to the Green Bay Packers and the head coach was ultimately fired.
When appearing on The Greg Hill Show this week, Vrabel previewed Sunday's game against the Dolphins, while also acknowledging Willis' playmaking abilities.
"I think that they play extremely hard. I had Malik as a young player," Vrabel said. "We drafted Malik in Tennessee. He can beat you scrambling, he can beat you throwing. They run the football really well. Their backs run hard. Defense is young and fast. Again, I think they're gonna continue to improve. I've known Jeff [Hafley] for a long time and he's an excellent football coach."
The Dolphins are coming off their first win of the season after upsetting the New York Jets on the road last week.
They'll be at home against a Patriots team still reeling from their primetime loss to the Chicago Bears. Coaching will be especially important this week to ensure that the team doesn't walk into a trap game. Despite the Dolphins' struggles, they are still a divisional rival with plenty of fight left in the tank.
