The New England Patriots made two roster moves ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Miami Dolphins, adding depth at running back and wide receiver with multiple offensive players unavailable.
New England signed running back Lan Larison to the 53-man roster and elevated wide receiver Ryan Miller from the practice squad.

Both moves come after the Patriots ruled out wide receiver A.J. Brown and running back TreVeyon Henderson for the Week 8 contest.
Brown's absence is another setback for a Patriots receiving corps that has struggled to stay healthy. The veteran missed four games after suffering a high ankle sprain in his New England debut before returning to the lineup for the team's previous two contests.
However, Brown experienced another issue during Wednesday's practice when a knee flare-up prevented him from finishing the session. He did not participate Thursday or Friday, and the Patriots downgraded him from questionable to out Saturday. Brown also did not travel with the team to Miami.

The Patriots will now have to move forward without the wide receiver for another game, leaving his availability for the team's upcoming schedule worth monitoring.
New England also will be without Romeo Doubs (shoulder) and Mack Hollins (calf), who remain on injured reserve . That leaves DeMario Douglas, Efton Chism III and Kyle Williams as the only three healthy wide receivers on the 53-man roster.
Miller's elevation gives quarterback Drake Maye another option in the passing game. The wide receiver has 17 career NFL receptions for 254 yards and four touchdowns, providing some experience as New England works through its injury issues at the position.
Larison's addition addresses another need with Henderson unavailable. The running back previously appeared in New England's season opener and gives the Patriots another option behind their remaining healthy backs.

Henderson has recorded 203 rushing yards and one touchdown on 52 carries this season. His absence leaves more work available for the Patriots' other running backs, while Larison could also contribute on special teams.
New England will need contributions from several players to account for its offensive absences when it takes on Miami on Sunday.
