The Pittsburgh Penguins acquired forward Yegor Chinakhov from the Blue Jackets for forward Danton Heinen, a 2026 second-round pick and a 2027 third-round selection Monday.
Both of the draft picks were acquired in trades from St. Louis (2026 second round) and Washington (2027 third round).
Chinakhov, 24, is making $2.1 million this season. He will be a free agent after this campaign. The 6-foot-1, 203-pound Chinakhov has recorded 37 goals, 40 assists and 77 points in 204 NHL games. This year, he has three goals and three assists in 29 games. Chinakhov has seven goals and six assists in 11 games with the American Hockey League's Cleveland Monsters.
Chinakhov was the 21st overall pick in the 2020 NHL draft.
Heinen, 30, has one goal and one assist in 13 games this season. Heinen is a free agent after this year.
Pittsburgh has 34 picks over the next four drafts.
