PGA Tour pro Tom Kim offers advice to LeBron James in Nike's new ad, which leans into the NBA star's well-known struggles with golf.
The campaign builds on a growing narrative around LeBron's time on the course, where his swing has been described as a work in progress rather than a finished product.

Instead of hiding that, Nike turns it into the central idea, showing how improvement can quickly become complicated.

Nike ad builds around LeBron James golf struggles
Nike ad featuring LeBron shows him working on his golf swing while being surrounded by different voices offering advice.
The concept reflects how his golf game has been received publicly, with clips of inconsistent swings and learning moments becoming part of the conversation around his off-court pursuits.
LeBron himself has embraced golf as a new challenge, but his early outings have highlighted the gap between athletic ability and technical precision on the course.

That contrast drives the ad, turning a weakness into something relatable rather than something to avoid.
Tom Kim's advice to LeBron James cuts through the noise
Tom Kim's cameo delivers the clearest message in the ad, focusing on simplicity rather than overload.
"Everyone giving you advice on your game? That's the worst. Just remember, it's all in the hips. Keep that grip loose," Kim said.
The line reinforces the ad's core idea: too much instruction can slow progress rather than help it.
Kim's approach stands in contrast to the constant stream of input shown throughout the ad, positioning clarity as the key to improvement.

In that sense, the campaign is less about fixing LeBron's swing and more about how athletes process advice when trying something new.
