The Philadelphia Phillies have a few key players hitting free agency this offseason, but one of the most fascinating players now a free agent is infielder Alec Bohm.

He's no longer on the Phillies' roster, and considering how up-and-down his tenure was, he seems likely to sign with a new team this offseason. But where will he go, and what will a new deal for Bohm look like?
ESPN's Kiley McDaniel projected that Bohm would be a "buy-low" free agent option for budget-conscious contenders amid a mediocre $12 million contract projection that would be a little disappointing for Bohm.
Alec Bohm gets $12M contract projection as 'buy-low' free agent target
"43. Alec Bohm, 3B... Projected contract: one year, $12 million," McDaniel writes. "... I think a change of scenery might help, and Bohm is another candidate for a buy-low deal for smart and/or lower-payroll clubs."

Bohm is not the kind of player a superteam like the Los Angeles Dodgers or New York Yankees would go out and acquire.
His upside isn't nearly as high as some other players available this offseason, but he is still someone teams should consider adding, especially if they don't have a lot of money to play with.
As McDaniel put it, Bohm is a fantastic "buy-low" third baseman/first baseman for teams looking to get a cheap player on a one-year deal that still has some upside.
Bohm's a hit-or-miss player, literally and figuratively. While he doesn't have a lot of power, Bohm has posted a 118 wRC+ in the second half of 2026, and he had an elite 130 wRC+ against left-handed pitchers this past season as well.

He was an All-Star back in 2024, and even put up a good showing in the Home Run Derby. Bohm is a great option for a team looking to add someone with some upside on a cheap one-year deal.
It's unlikely Bohm will get a strong multi-year deal, and it might make sense for him to take a prove-it contract with a team looking for more offensive firepower that will give him a full-time starting job.
Teams like the Cleveland Guardians , Minnesota Twins , Baltimore Orioles , Los Angeles Angels , Pittsburgh Pirates , Milwaukee Brewers , New York Mets , and likely many others could have some cursory interest in Bohm this offseason.

His market might not be as robust as other infielders this Fall, but Bohm is still talented and intriguing enough to get a few teams to show serious interest in him as a buy-low, rental option for the 2027 season.
