The Philadelphia Phillies announced multiple roster moves before their game on Wednesday night against the Cincinnati Reds . Reliever Brad Keller has been dealing with a forearm injury , but he was reinstated from the IL on Wednesday. Right-handed pitcher Lou Trivino III was placed on the 15-day injured list due to a right thoracic muscle spasm. The move is retroactive to Tuesday.
In other moves, right-handed pitcher Alan Rangel was recalled from Triple-A and right-handed pitcher Seth Johnson was optioned.
Keller's injury absence was far from ideal. His return will give the bullpen a boost. The 30-year-old reliever has pitched to a 4.15 ERA so far during the 2026 campaign, but Keller recorded a strong 2.07 ERA last year. He is an impactful pitcher to say the least.

The Phillies are currently only two games behind the Atlanta Braves in the National League East standings. Philadelphia endured an up and down start to the season, but the ball club has played well in recent weeks for the most part. The Phillies are now back on track while the Braves have been struggling.
Philadelphia is in a tremendous position ahead of the MLB All-Star break. The team would obviously love to take the lead in the NL East before the break, but even if they are unable to accomplish that goal, the Phillies are challenging the Braves overall.
For now, Philadelphia is focused on its game on Wednesday night against the Reds in Cincinnati. First pitch for the ball game is scheduled for 7:10 PM EST.
