Phoenix Suns lock in guard depth with Jamaree Bouyea signing
PHOENIX — The Phoenix Suns are strengthening their backcourt depth, rewarding a two-way player with a standard contract for his contributions this season.
According to NBA insider Shams Charania, the Suns have signed guard Jamaree Bouyea to a new two-year contract — securing him a more stable roster spot.

The deal also gives Phoenix additional flexibility as it balances developing young talent with remaining competitive in the Western Conference.
Bouyea is known for his energetic play and defensive effort, splitting time between the G League and the NBA. In a rotation role for the Suns, he averaged 6.5 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists in limited action, drawing attention for his tenacity on both ends of the floor.

The club has been searching for consistent secondary playmaking behind its stars, and this move signals an intent to lean on internal options for depth.
Turning a two-way contract into a standard deal signals not only a roster upgrade, but also the Suns’ belief that Bouyea’s skill set can help the team long term. Bouyea’s play this season has earned him stability in the desert, but also trust within the organization to continue to be a factor for them down the stretch.
Bouyea and the Suns return to action against the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday, March 3, at 9 p.m.
