The Pittsburgh Pirates have added a rookie outfielder to the organization.
According to Rich Walsh of KDKA-TV , the NL Central club has signed Kyler Fedko to a minor league contract.
"Kyler became a free agent after the Twins took him off their 40-man roster after tearing his ACL. The outfielder picked the Bucs over numerous other MLB offers," Walsh wrote on X. "Kyler is the son of former Pittsburgh Sports Anchor John Fedko @FedkoZone . He will head to Bradenton tomorrow to continue his rehab."
The Minnesota Twins selected Fedko in the 12th round of the 2021 draft.
He made his Major League debut earlier this season, but went hitless with two walks and eight strikeouts in 19 plate appearances.

Despite those poor numbers, Fedko had a strong season at Triple-A St. Paul with the Twins.
In 75 games, he hit .274/.362/.545 with 17 home runs and 17 doubles. Fedko stole 10 bases in 14 attempts, just one season after swiping 38 bags between Double-A and Triple-A.
Last month, Fedko tore his ACL, MCL, and LCL on a play in the outfield. He will miss the rest of the season and hopes to return at some point next year.
