The Pittsburgh Steelers have learned about a potential trade partner in the 2026 NFL Draft.
The Pittsburgh Steelers 12 selections in the 2026 NFL Draft make them a prime candidate to move up for one of the top players in the class, and they just learned of a team willing to help them make that happen.
According to Joseph Hoyt of the Dallas Morning News , the Dallas Cowboys are open to trading down from both the No. 12 and 20 overall selections in the first round.
The Steelers original plan last offseason was to accumulate as many compensatory draft picks as they could so that they could trade up in this year's draft to land their future franchise quarterback.
However, most of college football's top prospects decided to return to their respective schools in 2026. That certainly puts Pittsburgh in an interesting position with more draft capital than they need.
The Steelers could trade up for another playmaker after failing to acquire a legitimate No. 2 wide receiver the past two years or they could try to turn some of their 2026 draft capital into 2027 draft capital with the hopes of landing a potential franchise quarterback next year.

Either way, Steelers general manager Omar Khan has his work cut out for him this offseason, especially with a new coaching regime taking over.
Pittsburgh is currently scheduled to make its first selection at No. 21 overall, but many believe that could put them just outside of the range of some of this year's top talent. Maybe the Steelers should give the Cowboys a call and see what it would take to execute a trade up.
