Back from a loan at Sporting Braga, Brazilian Gabriel Moscardo would like to try his luck during Paris Saint-Germain 's summer preparation. Except that the French capital club has other plans for its young midfielder.
PSG finds itself with Moscardo, 20, again. Already loaned to Reims in 2024-25, the midfielder recruited for $22 million in 2024 has just finished the season on loan at Sporting Braga. A mixed experience for the Brazilian, initially lacking playing time, then established in the starting lineup at the end of the season.
That is undoubtedly the reason why the Portuguese club would like to extend Moscardo's stay. But it would still require the Parisian to give his agreement.
According to the latest information circulating about him, Moscardo does not plan to return to Sporting Braga when the season resumes. The former Corinthians player instead hopes to try his luck during PSG's summer preparations.
In the French capital, Luis Enrique could extend a hand to him during the preseason. But it seems difficult to imagine Moscardo in the Spanish coach's rotation next season. It would not be surprising if the midfielder, under contract until 2028, goes out on loan again.
Leads are not lacking, as Transfermarktcites promoted Italian side Monza, FC Cologne , Getafe , and Real Valladolid. These last two suitors have PSG's favor, which prioritizes a Spanish destination for the development of its players.
The Parisian club will therefore be delighted to learn that El Chiringuitohas added RCD Espanyol to the list of interested clubs. In principle, Moscardo will have to choose among these leads, hoping to convince a club to recruit him permanently and finally find the stability that PSG has not offered him.
Truthfully, the best option for Moscardo is a loan move, as PSG already has plenty of midfielders.
Enrique's preferred midfield features players such as Fabian Ruiz, Joao Neves and Vitinha , with Warren Zaire-Emery ready to serve as the first option off the bench or even play at right back.
While it is true that some of the players who have been used in midfield could leave, such as Kang-in Lee, the list also includes Lucas Beraldo , who has transitioned from left center-back and left-back to playing in midfield.
The club also has young midfielder Dro Fernandez , who arrived from Barcelona in January.
All of that, combined with reports indicating that the Parisians want to sign another midfielder -- having already been linked with Napoli 's Scott McTominay , West Ham 's Mateus Fernandes and Lille 's Ayoub Bouaddi -- makes a loan move the ideal solution for Moscardo as he looks for more playing time and a bigger role.
