One year after joining Paris Saint-Germain from AS Roma , Renato Marin (19), who will turn 20 next month, is set for a loan move to the Portuguese top flight, according to a report from Le Parisien .
Marin joined PSG last summer in order to become the third-choice goalkeeper, behind Lucas Chevalier (who also arrived last summer from Lille OSC ) and Matvey Safonov . Despite being third choice, he nonetheless made three appearances across all competitions for the European champions.
He is admired by Luis Enrique and seen as a player for the future, however, first-team prospects in the short-term are limited. As a result, Les Parisiens decided earlier in the summer that it would be best to send the goalkeeper out on loan.
An opportunity has now presented itself and the Italo-Brazilian shotstopper is set to join CD Nacional, who last season finished 14th in the Portuguese top flight. It will be a straight loan deal, without a buy option.
