Puka Nacua is still being tipped for a record-breaking payday despite off-field controversy, with Maxx Crosby backing the Rams star to reset the wide receiver market.
The prediction comes at a time when Nacua's name is being discussed for very different reasons.
That contrast is what makes the situation so striking.

Crosby made the claim while comparing Nacua to Seattle Seahawks ' Jaxon Smith-Njigba , who recently signed a four-year, $168.6 million extension.
"He's gonna get, he's gonna beat it for sure. That's just how it works. I mean, they both were the two best receivers statistically in the league this year, but he's going to come in over JSN," Crosby said.
The statement reflects how highly Nacua is still rated based on his on-field production.
It also shows how quickly the wide receiver market continues to climb.
Nacua is currently facing legal allegations stemming from a reported New Year's Eve incident, where he is accused of biting a woman during an altercation.
The claims remain disputed, with legal proceedings ongoing and no final ruling yet reached.
The situation has also drawn attention because of additional allegations tied to inappropriate remarks, further intensifying scrutiny.
For teams, situations like this introduce risk into contract decisions, especially when guarantees reach record levels. That tension between elite performance and off-field uncertainty is what now surrounds Nacua's future.
