Gabriel injured his back in the Browns' final preseason game, and the team placed him on injured reserve Aug. 30.
The Browns already have Deshaun Watson, Shadeur Sanders and Taylen Green at the position on their roster.
Davis injured his quadriceps during a training camp practice.
The Browns also announced they signed wide receiver James Proche II and defensive tackle Chris Williams to their practice squad. They cut running back Eric Gray, punter Wes Pahl and offensive tackle Xavier Truss from their practice squad.
