The Las Vegas Raiders ' wide receiver room is still a work in progress. They recently brought in veteran wide receiver Noah Brown to compete, but it didn't take long for the team to make a decision.
The Raiders announced that they have released Brown from the roster.
Brown lasted a week with the team, but clearly didn't do enough to show that he deserves a roster spot. The 6-foot-2 Brown was thought to be a good candidate to be the Raiders' X receiver.
He only had five catches last season, but has three seasons with over 400 receiving yards. Considering how questionable the Raiders' wide receiver room is, it looked like he would've had a better chance at making the roster. Instead, he's already heading back to free agency.
Head coach Klint Kubiak recently spoke about how he needs somebody in the wide receiver room to step up . Brown wasn't able to make a strong enough impression.
It will be interesting to see if this is the precursor to another wide receiver move. There aren't many great options left in free agency, but the Raiders could be looking at some options. Either way, Brown is going to have to hope that another team comes along before the season.
