Everyone was predicting the Raiders game against the Jets would be a close call that could go either way. That much proved to be true. But it played out quite a bit differently than most expected.
Both teams lit up the scoreboard, first with the Jets scoring on each of their first six possessions. Then with the Raiders hanging around long enough that once they stopped the Jets for their first punt of the game, they drove to for their fifth touchdown of the day to take the lead.

The Jets were running through the Raiders like hot butter in the first half, with running back Braelon Allen picking up 121 yards. He added to that in the second half, including running for a 21-yard touchdown.
But holding the Jets to field goals on several of their long drives proved to be the difference. Up 35-33, the Raiders got the ball with 4:31 left and drove into field goal range. Matt Gay came and hit a 53-yard field goal, which meant the Jets would need a touchdown. They were unable to get there and the Raiders escaped New York (Jersey) with a 38-33 win.

Jeremy Chinn interception in the end zone ends it for Raiders 38-33 win over Jets

The Jets got a gift on their last gasp attempt to come back to beat the Raiders when Jeremy Chinn was flagged for a very questionable unnecessary roughness penalty. But the next play, Chinn would make them pay for it. Geno Smith launched one for the end zone and Chinn was right there to pick it off, tapping his toes inbounds to seal the Raiders win.

With 4:31 left in the fourth quarter, the Raiders got the ball back looking to close it out. They would keep the ball for nine plays, running over four minutes off the clock and then bringing Matt Gay out to give them a five-point lead with :27 seconds remaining.

The Jets get a big play on a 47-yard completion from Geno Smith to Adonai Mitchell. But they get no farther and settled for a field goal to make it a two-point game. But the stop means the Raiders keep the lead with under five minutes left.

Even after allowing the Jets to score on their first six possessions, the Raiders have somehow came back to take the lead. They go 84 yards on nine plays and finish it off with a touchdown pass to Jalen Nailor from two yards out.

After holding the Jets to their first punt of the game, the Raiders needed to capitalize. And they got off to a great start thanks to their controversial running back, Ashton Jeanty. The second-year back made headlines this week by saying some of the Jets' defenders didn't like to tackle. And to his credit, he sure made them look like it on this play.

Even with the Jets offense literally scoring on every one of their six possessions, the Raiders offense is still doing its part to try and keep pace. A 19-yard connection with Michael Mayer put the Raiders in scoring range and a nine-yard pass for Brock Bowers set them up at the goal line. The next play, they score their second TD of the third quarter with Cousins keeping it from one yard out.

After gouging the Raiders for 121 yards in the first half, Braelon Allen was back at it to begin the third quarter. The Raiders started things out with a touchdown drive of their own. Then the Jets answer by going 58 yards in three plays, capping it off with Allen finding open field on the left side to go the final 21 yards for the score. This is now six scores on six drives for the Jets.

Brock Bowers had the longest catch on the drive, then drew a pass interference to put the Raiders in first and goal, and then made the catch for the touchdown on third and goal.

Ashton Jeanty got his first carry of the game. With 4:30 left in the second quarter, the Raiders lined up in third-and-two and Jeanty got the ball up the gut...and was stuffed for a one-yard gain. I guess those weren't the guys who didn't like to tackle.

The Raiders then went for it on fourth-and-one from the New York 46-yard-line. They went back to their favorite play with Connor Heyward gettign the direct snap on the tush push. And it was stuffed as well.

The Jets score on their fourth consecutive possession to start this game. After what started as field goals, the last two have both been for touchdowns on gorgeous passes by Geno Smith. This one was a perfectly placed ball in the back right corner of the end zone to Adonai Mitchell who got behind Eric Stokes for the score.

The Jets scored their first TD of the day and their lead lasted a mere seconds. The kick off was fielded by Dylan Laube at the six-yard-line and he found room up the left sideline and was gone 94 yards for the score.

The Jets opened the game with a long drive for a field goal. The Raiders answered it with a drive for a touchdown. Brock Bowers had two catches for 35 yards on the drive, the final one being an insane one-handed touchdown grab from 12 yards out.

The Jets came out firing, taking what they wanted from the Raiders. But what they wanted the most, they did not get -- a touchdown. First play was a 32-yard connection between Geno Smith and Garrett Wilson. Next two plays were consecutive 15-yard runs by Braelon Allen to put the Jets in first and goal at the three-yard-line. But a run stop and consecutive pass breakups by Eric Stokes and Treydan Stukes and the Jets settled for a chip shot field goal.

Raiders 20, Jets 19.This is one of the more difficult predictions. Last week was tough too because the Rams were so injury depleted. But even with all their injuries on both sides of the ball, they still had their way with the Raiders. Add that the only other game this season they went to the east coast for an early game, they got pummeled by the Patriots, and I don't have a lot of faith in them. That being said, I don't have any faith in Geno Smith to take advantage of them like the other teams did. This one is practically a toss up for me.
