The Los Angeles Rams have had an injury-riddled season, and just when it looks like things were getting better, they got some news about one of their key cornerbacks. Jaylen Watson had a shoulder injury, and he'll be missing the rest of the season as he's expected to have surgery , according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
"Rams CB Jaylen Watson is expected to have shoulder surgery that will end his 2026 season, coach Sean McVay said. A surprising and frustrating outcome for the big ticket free agent who has been undergoing tests the last few days," Rapoport wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
Watson signed with the Chiefs in free agency during the offseason, and he was expected to be a part of their revamped secondary. He was a key veteran for the team through the first seven games of the season, and now they'll be looking to get someone to fill his void.

Trent McDuffie will now be relied on more than ever, and that's not a bad thing, but he's also dealt with injuries this season as well. He recently went down with a back injury against the Los Angeles Chargers, but head coach Sean McVay says he should be okay.
Watson's injury is just one of the many that the Rams have had to deal with. Davante Adams is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury, and he's expected to miss an extended period of time. The good news is that Myles Garrett is supposed to make his return soon and will return to practice this week.
If the Rams can get some more people back from injury, the hope is that they can continue to stack wins after their slow start to the year.
