The Los Angeles Rams traveled to Australia without Aaron Donald . They then watched the San Francisco 49ers lose rising wide receiver De'Zhaun Stribling. But now LA took its own NFL Injury hit on Thursday down in Melbourne involving safety Kam Curl .
The veteran sustained his own ankle injury following Stribling, and became listed as questionable for the rest of the game.
Curl delivered two tackles before his injury. He also watched a Donald-less defense produce two early eight-tackle performers in Kamren Kinchens and Quentin Lake from the defensive back room.

Turns out Curl wasn't the only major injury on the Rams' side. Veteran tight end Davis Allen also left and needed to enter inside the medical tent . Allen is being evaluated for a concussion, which occurred during the third quarter of the season opener.
Injuries are already mounting through the first two games of the 2026 NFL season. Rams rival the Seattle Seahawks already dealt with quarterback Sam Darnold leaving early with a hip injury. The New England Patriots , meanwhile, lost prized wide receiver addition AJ Brown to an ankle sprain. Both Darnold's and Brown's injury aren't season-ending ones, though.
So the Rams-49ers contest have added to the league's suddenly growing injury list. Except Stribling's ailment arrived during the first quarter and eventually never returned.
Los Angeles struggled to ignite its explosive offensive inside Melbourne Cricket Ground. Only running back Kyren Williams scored the lone touchdown for the Rams, which momentarily put them ahead 7-3. But the 49ers outscored LA with 14 unanswered leading into the fourth quarter.
