The Los Angeles Rams could get back one of their most trusted veterans in the postseason. The team officially opened the practice window for right tackle Rob Havenstein , who was on injured reserve since after Week 11.
Havenstein was seen warming up with teammates during Thursday's practice, but this doesn't mean he will be ready to play ahead of the NFC championship game against the Seattle Seahawks . It does, however, open the door for playing in the Super Bowl if the Rams beat the Seahawks this weekend.
The veteran tackle, who is the longest-tenured member of the Rams, hasn't played since he injured his ankle in Week 11. He joined tight end Tyler Higbee and safety Quentin Lake on injured reserve at that point, both of whom have already been activated and played a few games for L.A.
Fortunately for L.A., the offensive line has looked solid without Havenstein on the right side. Third-year tackle Warren McClendon has looked sensational in Havenstein's place and kept quarterback Matthew Stafford upright throughout his time starting on the offensive line.
Havenstein is an impending free agent after this season. He'll be 34 this offseason, too, and coming off an injury that sidelined him for the second half of the season and most of the postseason. While the Rams could bring Havenstein back next season, McClendon looks to have secured his future on the offensive line after a promising stretch.
