“It’s great to be able to see him,” McVay said. “He looks great. He’s doing really well.”

Why was Puka Nacua in rehab?

Earlier this month, Nacua’s attorney, Levi McCathern, told  Edward Lewis of  The California Post  that the wide receiver was in a luxury treatment center in Malibu.

In recent months, Nacua had been sued for allegedly biting a woman named Madison Atiabi and making antisemitic statements while intoxicated, which McCathern said was “a contributing factor” in the decision to enter rehab.

“He was in there a substantial period of time before any of these allegations broke with Madison,” McCathern said, “and he’s scheduled to be there for a while longer.”

Now, though, Nacua is out of rehab and preparing for the upcoming season.

What’s next for Puka Nacua?

Nacua is eligible for a contract extension that could be worth nine figures , making his status of utmost importance to the team .

Naturally, that led reporters to ask McVay about his conversations with Nacua in recent days.

McVay declined to offer specifics, but he projected confidence about the future.

“I’ll keep those between us, but he and I have a great relationship,” he said. “I feel really good about the direction that we’re going.”
