The Los Angeles Rams visit the Washington Commanders on Sunday, November 8, with both teams coming off victories. Los Angeles is 4-4 after beating the Chargers 24-9, while Washington improved to 2-4-1 by defeating Philadelphia on Sunday Night Football. Kickoff at Northwest Stadium is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET on FOX.

The matchup puts Matthew Stafford's offense against a Washington defense struggling to stop the run. Los Angeles has won consecutive games, but Stafford's arm issue and injuries throughout the roster complicate the assignment. Washington needs Jayden Daniels to build on last week's victory without allowing the Rams to dictate possession.

Rams vs. Commanders Key Injuries

Los Angeles' most important concern is Stafford, who appears on the early injury report as questionable with an arm injury. Tight end Colby Parkinson is also questionable with a rib issue, while Terrance Ferguson is still on injured reserve while working his way back from an ankle injury. Stafford's practice participation requires monitoring before making a firm assessment of the passing game.

The Rams are also managing significant absences elsewhere. Davante Adams, Myles Garrett, Kobie Turner and Poona Ford are still on the injured reserve, despite positive signs on Garrett show that he is close to returning . Cornerbacks Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson appear as questionable, creating additional uncertainty for a defense preparing to contain Daniels. Those early-week listings are not substitutes for final game designations.

Washington's offensive depth is depleted, too. Terry McLaurin is on injured reserve, while running backs Jacory Croskey-Merritt and Jeremy McNichols are also on IR with groin and foot injuries, respectively. Defensive linemen Javon Kinlaw and Javontae Jean-Baptiste are unavailable on injured reserve, weakening the rotation against a Rams offense positioned to emphasize the run.

Rams Betting Trends

Los Angeles is 4-4 against the spread this season, with the over hitting in four of its eight games. The Rams have covered in consecutive victories, beating Las Vegas 35-21 as 3.5-point favorites before handling the Chargers by 15 points as 6.5-point favorites. Their recent improvement has translated into both wins and covers.

The results also demonstrate that Los Angeles does not need one specific scoring environment to succeed. The Raiders victory cleared its 49.5-point total, while the Chargers game finished comfortably below 45.5. That flexibility matters against a Washington team that would benefit from keeping the game close and limiting possessions.

The strongest matchup advantage is on the ground. Washington ranks 31st in opponent rushing success rate, a measure of how consistently opposing runs produce successful outcomes. That gives Kyren Williams and Blake Corum an opportunity to keep Los Angeles ahead of the chains and reduce the burden on Stafford.

Commanders Betting Trends

Washington is 4-3 against the spread despite its 2-4-1 straight-up record. The Commanders have also covered all three games in which they were underdogs of at least 5.5 points this season. That record provides a legitimate caution against treating Los Angeles' recent victories as an automatic reason to lay the points.

The over has hit in four of Washington's seven games. However, backing another high-scoring result requires confidence that the Commanders can sustain drives despite their offensive absences. McLaurin's unavailability and the depleted backfield make Daniels' decision-making and ability to extend plays particularly important.

Washington's home performance offers another reason to expect resistance. The Commanders are 2-1-1 at Northwest Stadium, compared with an overall record of 2-4-1. Their victory over Philadelphia also kept them within reach of the NFC East lead, giving this matchup significance beyond simply trying to build a winning streak.

Keys to the Matchup

Los Angeles must establish its running game early. Washington's poor rushing success-rate defense creates an opportunity to sustain manageable down-and-distance situations. Consistent production from Williams and Corum would also prevent the Rams from asking an injured Stafford to carry every important possession.

Washington needs to make the Rams defend Daniels' mobility without letting the offense become dependent on improvisation. Los Angeles' defensive injuries offer potential opportunities, but the Commanders still need timely completions and efficient early-down plays to avoid repeatedly facing obvious passing situations.

Stafford's availability remains the biggest variable. If he can operate effectively, Los Angeles can combine its rushing advantage with opportunities for Puka Nacua. If the arm issue limits his accuracy or willingness to attack downfield, Washington can devote more attention to stopping the run and keeping the score within one possession.

Rams vs. Commanders Prediction and Pick

The Commanders should remain competitive at home, and their record as sizable underdogs deserves consideration. However, Washington's difficulty stopping the run gives Los Angeles a repeatable way to control the game rather than relying entirely on explosive passing plays.

Provided Stafford plays without a significant limitation, the Rams have the stronger foundation for creating second-half separation. Washington's offensive absences make matching a balanced Los Angeles attack difficult, especially if the Commanders fall behind and must abandon a patient approach.

Prediction: Rams 27, Commanders 20
