Kurt Warner had a breakdown for Ty Simpson before he was drafted. It’s possible you’ve already seen the video , or you want to see it with new eyes now that Simpson has been drafted by the Los Angeles Rams , so I am going to post this video here .

It won’t let me post the video in the article, copyrights and such. That aside, my takeaways from Warner’s breakdown are that Simpson apparently is really good at processing the field, especially for how little he’s put on tape. And that’s the other takeaway; Simpson hasn’t started enough games to put too much on tape.

It’s a Saturday. Enjoy your day with the Warner video, or do whatever you desire. You deserve it, it’s the weekend. You know how I feel, thank you for checking out Turf Show Times! Comment on whatever you want (or don’t!), have a great weekend.

Kurt Warner says Simpson’s tape was better than Mendoza’s at times (ramswire)

“Kurt Warner, who won a Super Bowl with the Rams and made the Pro Football Hall of Fame, said before the 2026 draft that he thought Simpson looked better than the eventual No. 1 overall pick, Fernando Mendoza, at times throughout their respective college seasons. Warner noted Simpson’s ability to make “NFL throws” as well as his athleticism in and out of the pocket were also points in his favor between the Alabama and Indiana prospects.“

Rams GM sheds light on Ty Simpson’s development plan for 2026 (ramswire)

“That preparation for a post-Stafford world starts in 2026, though, even if Simpson isn’t expected to see the field. How that manifests on the practice field remains to be seen, but Rams general manager Les Snead  told Yahoo Sports’ Jori Epstein  on March 30, before the team took Simpson, that L.A.’s backup will “get more reps” in practice.

“The way we manage Matthew, at least our backup QB is going to get more reps,” Snead said. “But it’s going to come during OTAs. It’s going to come during some portions of training camp. And then once the season starts, so that’s the tough part.”
