Brandon Nimmo emerges as the hero for the Texas Rangers , who just had yet another walk-off win, on Sunday , as he delivered when it mattered the most for his team in the series finale against the Houston Astros at Globe Life Field in Arlington.
With the score tied at 5-5 and two men on base, Nimmo came through for the Rangers with a walk-off RBI single against Astros star reliever Josh Hader , giving Texas the 6-5 victory — and the series win.
Nimmo's heroics got fans on the internet buzzing with reactions, as the Rangers punctuated their schedule in the first half of the 2026 MLB regular season on a high note.
"Looks like Nimmo decided the base paths needed a little extra cardio, courtesy of the Rangers. 💪," a fan said .
"MY GOAT COMES THROUGH ONCE MORE," a social media user on X shared .
"Nimmo walking it off in Texas like a true cowboy 🤠 Rangers win!" another one commented .
"David Stearns swings and misses yet again," a different fan said.
"That's my first place Rangers!!!!," another comment read .
The Rangers avoided a complete collapse in the game, thanks to Nimmo, who did an Astros fan a solid back in May during another Rangers win . Texas built a 3-0 lead through the first two innings and did not allow the Astros to score until the fourth inning. Houston grabbed the lead in the eighth inning with a Cam Smith home run before Kyle Higashioka tied it all up at 5-5 with a solo homer in the eighth inning.
It was a big individual overall for Nimmo, who finished the contest 3-for-5 with two RBIs.
Texas concludes the first half of the campaign with a 49-47 record, good for the top spot in the American League West.
