Texas Rangers outfielder Brandon Nimmo exited a recent game with hamstring tightness. Nimmo ended up playing on Friday against the Detroit Tigers , but he exited the game in the fourth inning again, according to Jeff Wilson of DLLS Sports.
“Brandon Nimmo left tonight’s game in the fourth after his second single. Also left early Wednesday with hamstring tightness he said is a common occurrence and manageable,” Wilson reported.
Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News later reported that Nimmo exited the game with hamstring tightness once again. However, McFarland also shared an encouraging update .
“This feels more precautionary than anything,” McFarland reported. “It’s cold out, they’re up 4-0, and Nimmo looked fine in the dugout from what I could see.”
The Rangers and Nimmo seemingly believe the hamstring injury issue is something that the outfielder can play through. Texas will continue to closely monitor the situation, however.
Nimmo, 33, is now hitting .302/.378/.468 across 32 games played. He also has four home runs. He is performing well in his first season with the Rangers after getting traded from the New York Mets this past offseason. The hamstring injury concern is the only thing slowing him down at the moment.
Updates on Brandon Nimmo’s injury status will continue to be monitored and provided as they are made available.
As for the ball game itself, the Rangers currently hold a 4-3 lead against the Tigers in Detroit. The teams have had similar seasons, as Texas entered play with a 15-16 record while Detroit is 16-16 so far this year.
