The Texas Rangers are in the middle of their series against the New York Yankees , and they lost one of their key players during the game. As Brandon Nimmo was running the bases, it looked as if he had tweaked something in his leg. He met with a team trainer, and soon after, Sam Haggerty came off the bench to pinch run.

The team then announced that he had to exit the game because of right hamstring tightness.

There will probably be tests coming soon for Nimmo, and even if everything turns out well, there is a chance that he’ll miss the series opener against the Detroit Tigers in a few days.

Nimmo has dealt with injuries to his right hamstring in the past, but it hasn’t sent him to the injured list since 2021. At that time, he missed 12 days, and in 2017, he missed six weeks with a hamstring strain.

Before going down against the Yankees, he was hitting .290 with a .364 OBP and .824 OPS.

The Rangers are also dealing with an injury to Wyatt Langford as he was placed on the 10-day injured list a week ago with a Grade 1 right forearm flexor strain.

“Skip Schumaker said Wyatt Langford will likely be activated this weekend, but weather in Texas could hinder the ability for him to go on a rehab before that. There are a number of options to work through for him to get live at-bats, but the weekend remains the target date,” Landry wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Langford is hitting .238 with one home run, four RBIs, three doubles, and two triples, along with a .274 OBP and .363 SLG through 20 games this season.
