The Lakers will look to rebound from a 112-95 defeat against the Warriors.
JJ Redick's squad has relied on a high-octane attack that ranks fourth in the league, with a 119.7 offensive rating and an average of 118.5 points per game. However, Los Angeles faces its stiffest interior test yet against a stingy Toronto defense under head coach Darko Rajakovic.
The Raptors enter Sunday's contest allowing just 106.2 points per game, the fourth-fewest in the NBA. Toronto boasts a 103.9 defensive rating across five games—second in the league only behind the Pistons .
While Los Angeles operates at a deliberate pace of 99.0 possessions per game (22nd), Toronto will try to turn this matchup into a grind-it-out half-court battle, limiting clean looks around the rim and forcing perimeter creation.
This offers a nice fade opportunity, and our NBA PRO props projections picked up on the perfect candidate for it tonight.
Los Angeles guard Austin Reaves enters Sunday averaging 23.8 points per game, but recent outings show clear signs of offensive regression after a blistering start to the campaign.
After surpassing 25 points in three consecutive games from Oct. 23 to Oct. 27, Reaves has cooled off, failing to reach 22 points in each of his last two contests:
Oct. 28 at LA Clippers :16 points (6-of-16 FG, 1-of-6 3PT)
Oct. 30 at Golden State :21 points (9-of-19 FG, 1-of-6 3PT)
Over that two-game stretch, Reaves has shot just 15-of-35 (42.9%) from the field and an ice-cold 2-of-12 (16.7%) from the 3-point range, while committing a combined 16 turnovers .
He now runs into the second-best defense in the NBA. With the Raptors excelling at slowing tempo and limiting clean perimeter looks, Reaves will have to work substantially harder for his scoring opportunities.
Our props dashboard marks the under as the bet to make, pegging Reaves for just 21.02 points on Sunday night.
With the line set at 22.5 points and the current best line, the model identifies a 13.4% betting edge, providing strong statistical value against a top-tier defensive opponent.
Fade Reaves tonight on his points prop .
Pick: Austin Reaves Under 22.5 Points (-103, DraftKings )
