The Baltimore Ravens made the decision to nix their trade with the Las Vegas Raiders for Maxx Crosby after receiving additional details on his physicals. The one person who would have to answer for backing out is general manager Eric DeCosta , and he shared his true feelings about the trade a day later.

"Nobody is more upset by this than me. I'm gutted by it," DeCosta said via Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic.
DeCosta also noted that he has a responsibility to the team to act in its best interests, despite the several conspiracies out there on why they nixed the trade and signed Trey Hendrickson.
Details surrounding why the Ravens backed out of the deal were presented by Dianna Russini, and it all started when Croby came to Baltimore for his physical.
"When he went in for his physical, from what I've learned things seemed to be really off in the building all day – that something wasn't right," Russini said on The Dan Patrick Show. "And he had his physical, and the Ravens' doctors looked at the MRI and they had four, five independent doctors look at it as well and together they made the decision that this trade was not worth it based on what they discovered in his knee."

Russini noted that there is "100% shadiness" on the Ravens side, because teams around the league knew where Crosby was with the progress in his knee.
Some assume that once the Ravens found out that they could get Hendrickson for a lower price, that's when they decided to pivot. Since then, DeCosta has come out and said they planned on pairing Crosby and Henderson together, and Henderson was under the impression that he would be playing alongside Crosby.
As of now, it's uncertain if Crosby will be traded anytime soon, and if any teams would trust making a deal with the Ravens.
