- RB Gemari Sands is no longer on Florida State's 2026 roster
Florida State has removed running back Gemari Sands from its roster for 2026, according to Peter Holland Jr. of the Tallahassee Democrat . He transferred to FSU back in January after two seasons with the Florida Atlantic Owls. The reason he is no longer with the program is unknown at the moment.
After taking a redshirt as a freshman, Sands played in 11 games in 2024. He ran for 117 yards on 31 carries and scored two touchdowns, and he hauled in three passes for 60 yards. Last season was his best as he registered 465 rushing yards and caught 40 passes for 217 yards.

Sands was brought in to add another layer to Florida State's running back room along with Quintrevion Wisner, who transferred in from the Texas Longhorns, along with returning running backs Ousmane Kromah and Sam Singleton Jr. He appeared in just one game for FSU, playing on special teams in their Week 1 game against the SMU Mustangs.
