Really bitter! German gem injured after return to starting XI
In the Champions League, Leipzig's Assan Ouédraogo had still come on as a substitute in Como (1-4), but today he was allowed to start against Hamburger SV . However, his time on the pitch came to an end after just half an hour.
The Germany international had to be substituted because of an injury. That is likely to be particularly bitter for him just one week before Jürgen Klopp's squad nomination. He had only recently recovered from a shoulder injury.

It was precisely on that shoulder that he landed against Hamburger SV and was unable to continue. Christopher Nkunku therefore came on for him.
Ouédraogo has repeatedly been held back by injuries in the past. This setback is therefore particularly bitter for the 20-year-old. He had suffered several knee injuries and a thigh injury since joining Leipzig in 2024. Then, in August, he injured his shoulder.
From Ouédraogo's point of view, the hope now is that he will not be sidelined for long. However, this substitution could cost him a possible place in Klopp's first Germany squad, which will be announced next Thursday.
