The Boston Red Sox couldn't score during Tuesday night's 2-1 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies . But fans should be very encouraged to see Brayan Bello put together a second consecutive great start.

Since interim manager Chad Tracy decided to utilize an opener during Bello's day in the rotation, the young pitcher has allowed just two earned runs in 13.1 innings pitched.
However, each time Tracy has given the ball to an opener, the opener has allowed a run in the first inning. Additionally, each time Tracy has used an opener, he chose left-handed relief pitcher Jovani Moran .
The first time Moran earned the "start," he walked two batters and allowed three hits in the first inning against the Detroit Tigers . The Tigers plated two before Bello took the mound.
Tracy once again gave Moran the nod on Tuesday. It went better the second time around, with Moran striking out two of the four batters he faced. However, former Red Sox first baseman Kyle Schwarber was able to get a hold of a belt-high fastball and deposit it into the seats in right field.

While Tracy deserves immense credit for finding a solution to Bello's string of bad starts, it does not appear that he has found the right guy to be the Red Sox "opener."
Some tinkering may be in order because he certainly will not be going away from the strategy on Bello's day.
