As fans have been waiting for any injury updates on Boston Red Sox first baseman Triston Casas , there is no denying that it has been a frustrating journey for the 26-year-old. With Casas suffering setbacks with the Red Sox, the player has undergone another surgery that isn't for the injury he's on the injured list (IL) to begin with.
According to Chris Cotillo, Casas "had arthroscopic wrist surgery" on Thursday, and while it had been known that the star had an issue in the wrist, he has missed most of the time due to other issues. Going all the way back to May of 2025, when running to first base in a game, he sustained a serious knee injury that made him miss the rest of the season.

Casas would then sustain a left abdominal strain in April of this year, though not related to a rib injury he had in 2024; the latest injury is with the wrist , as interim manager Chad Tracy revealed in July, via MassLive.

"He's gone through a lot, between the knee, then he had a little hamstring flare-up, obviously the oblique and he's come back from that, and now there's a wrist that's popped up," Tracy said. "We'll keep an eye [on it] and once he's able to, keep progressing."
With Casas undergoing the wrist surgery with the Red Sox, there is no denying that there is some frustration from the fanbase and the player himself as he wants to get back on the field. It remains to be seen when Casas returns to Boston, as there is no timetable in sight, as he has just played in 92 games since 2023.
At any rate, Boston has been on a tear, currently on a seven-game winning streak, as the team is 62-51, which puts them third in the AL East, ahead of the series finale against the Chicago White Sox on Thursday night.
