Ranger Suarez ’s start to life with the Boston Red Sox hasn’t gotten off to the easiest start, as the team has struggled as a whole, sitting in fifth place in the American League East. This isn’t to say that the Venezuelan ace hasn’t been performing well, as he is posting a 3.20 ERA and a 3.38 FIP, both metrics are about where he was last season with the Philadelphia Phillies .
When Suarez took to the mound on Sunday afternoon against the Houston Astros , he was looking to build on what was his best performance of the season, an eight-inning performance against the Toronto Blue Jays , whom he only allowed one hit against while fanning ten batters.

The Venezuelan would do just that in the early goings against Houston, striking out three batters, while allowing three hits. But his outing would come to an end after four innings, when the Red Sox pulled the 30-year-old due to hamstring tightness, as reported by The Boston Herald's Gabrielle Starr.
While there isn’t any further information on Suarez’s hamstring injury, it has been something that has bothered him in the past, landing on the Phillies’ 15-day IL back in 2023 due to a hamstring strain.
This will be a certain blow for Boston ’s rotation, as they are already without the likes of Sonny Gray and Garrett Crochet .
