Red Wings trade for Michigan State hockey alum

Despite the NHL trade deadline being past, teams can make trades involving minor league players. On Thursday, the Detroit Red Wings and Tampa Bay Lightning did.

The Red Wings are sending Ian Mitchell to the Lightning, while the Lightning are moving Michael Milne and Wojciech Stachowiak to Detroit.

Stachowiak is a former member of the MSU hockey program (2018-2020) and notably competed for Germany in the 2026 Olympics.
