Cincinnati Reds starter Brandon Williamson labored for control at times during his three-inning start against the Colorado Rockies , and there might have been a good reason for that.
Later in the Reds-Rockies game April 29 at Great American Ball Park, Cincinnati officials announced Williamson, a left-handed thrower, was lifted from the game due to left shoulder fatigue.

Williamson allowed four runs on four hits with four walks against four strikeouts in his outing.

There was no in-game update from the team regarding the severity of Williamson's shoulder situation.
An injured-list stint for WIlliamson, the club's No. 5 starter to begin the season, would squeeze the Reds on the pitching front.
While Nick Lodolo is progressing from a left index finger blister and scheduled for his second rehab start May 2 with Triple-A Louisville, his return wasn't imminent.
Jose Franco is up with Cincinnati and pitched April 29. Luis Mey was called up April 29 in response to reliever Graham Ashcraft being placed on the bereavement list.
