The NL Central club announced that they've sent outfielder and third baseman Noelvi Marte to Triple-A. Charlie Goldsmith of FOX 19 reports that the Reds have recalled outfielder Rece Hinds in a corresponding move.

Marte was acquired by the Reds from the Seattle Mariners in 2022, as part of the deal that sent All-Star right-hander Luis Castillo to Seattle. At the time, he was regarded as one of the top prospects in baseball.

In 11 games this season, he's hit just .138/.194/.138 with no extra-base hits in 31 trips to the plate. This is following a season in which Marte slugged 14 home runs and managed a .748 OPS in a career-high 90 games.

In March 2024, he was suspended for 80 games for testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance. Clearly, his career with the Reds is not off to the start they had hoped.

Hinds, 25, played 15 games with Cincinnati in 2025 and struck out 21 times compared to just one walk in 44 trips to the plate.
