Report – Lazio Long-Serving Star on Verge of Moving to Middle East
Veteran defender Patric is reportedly on the verge of terminating his contract with Lazio amid intense speculation linking him with a move to Al-Ittifaq. According to Corriere dello Sport via Calciomercato , the Spaniard has already agreed personal terms with the Saudi Pro League outfit.
Patric joined Lazio from Barcelona in 2015 and has since made over 240 appearances for the club. However, the 33-year-old is approaching the autumn of his career and is ready to open a new chapter away from Serie A. After an injury-riddled past 18 months, Gennaro Gattuso's side won't stand in his way.

For context, several fitness setbacks restricted Patric to just 14 league outings last season. Furthermore, he has yet to feature for Lazio this term due to a muscle strain, with Josip Sutalo and Oliver Provstgaard overtaking him in the pecking order. Meanwhile, his contract at the Olimpico runs out at the end of the season.
Our take on Lazio & Patric
Patric is the longest-serving player in the current Lazio squad. However, his influence has dwindled over the past 12 months, derailing his status in the dressing room. Moreover, the Biancocelesti are open to letting him leave for free, as the parties are currently negotiating a contract termination.
As for Patric, he has already struck an agreement with Al-Ittifaq, where he would join forces with former Serie A stars Mario Balotelli and Douglas Costa . All that's left to settle before he can make his move to the Saudi Pro League is the resolution of his contract in Italy 's capital, which could happen in the next 24 hours.
