Report: Man United Target Premier League Midfielder
Manchester United Target Ibrahim Sangare as Midfield Rebuild Takes Shape
Manchester United are already scanning the horizon for midfield reinforcements as the club prepares for life after Casemiro . According to reporting credited to Caught Offside , Nottingham Forest midfielder Ibrahim Sangare has emerged as a serious option ahead of the summer transfer window.

Sangare has quietly developed into one of the Premier League's most imposing midfield presences. His blend of size, defensive intelligence and calmness on the ball has placed him firmly on the radar of several top clubs.
United Interest in Sangare
Manchester United's recruitment team appear particularly drawn to the midfielder's ability to control duels and protect the defence. As reported, sources close to the situation say United scouts have been "impressed" by his dominance in duels and composure under pressure.

Forest signed Sangare in 2023 for around €35 million, and the Ivorian has grown into a vital part of their structure. His role has evolved from simple destroyer to something more nuanced, a midfielder capable of disrupting opposition play while also launching transitions forward.

The club are believed to be preparing for negotiations in the €45–50 million range. That valuation reflects both Sangare's growing reputation and Forest's need to balance their finances through at least one significant sale this summer.
Competition Across Premier League
United are not the only club aware of Sangare's qualities. Aston Villa and West Ham are also monitoring the situation closely, with the latter having attempted to sign him previously.
Forest supporters would understandably be reluctant to see him leave. Yet there is also an acceptance that the club may need to cash in on one of their most valuable assets. Sangare sits alongside Elliot Anderson and Murillo in that category.

Interest from elite clubs is nothing new. Bayern Munich and Liverpool have tracked him in the past, recognition that his skillset translates well across Europe's top competitions.
Midfield Profile United May Prioritise
Manchester United may view Sangare as a pragmatic alternative to more expensive targets such as Adam Wharton or Carlos Baleba . In a market where defensive midfielders increasingly command premium fees, Sangare represents a blend of experience and relative value.
His influence at Forest has grown steadily as he adapted to English football's tempo. Reports suggest he has become a "barrier" in front of the defence, a description that captures both his physicality and positional discipline.

Should United accelerate their interest, Sangare could become one of the defining midfield moves of the summer window. In an era where control of the centre of the pitch dictates success, players capable of imposing themselves physically and tactically remain highly sought after.
Our View, EPL Index Analysis
From a Manchester United perspective, this report will spark plenty of curiosity. The club's midfield has looked unbalanced for some time, particularly as Casemiro has moved beyond his peak years. Sangare's profile immediately makes sense in that context.
A United supporter reading this might see him as a practical solution rather than a glamorous one. Adam Wharton and Carlos Baleba attract headlines, yet Sangare arguably offers the type of stability the team has lacked. His ability to shield the defence and win physical battles would address a recurring weakness.

The key question revolves around progression with the ball. United fans have seen many defensive midfielders arrive who excel at breaking play but struggle to help build attacks. If Sangare can combine his defensive presence with reliable distribution, he could become an important structural piece.
There is also the financial angle. Spending €45–50 million on a Premier League proven player carries less risk than gambling on an untested import. Supporters might see this as sensible recruitment if the club plans additional signings elsewhere in midfield.
Ultimately, Sangare feels like a move rooted in practicality. For a side seeking renewed balance in the centre of the pitch, that might be exactly what Manchester United require.
