Report: Mazzulla to stay, Vooch likely out without paycut; Queta, Walsh to be picked up
Several important offseason decisions for the Boston Celtics may already be made by the team's front office, per recent reporting from lead Boston Globe Celtics beat writer Adam Himmelsbach. According to the Globe reporter, "all indications are that (Boston head coach Joe) Mazzulla will be back next season after an embarrassing collapse vs. the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round, who they held a 3-1 lead over to start.
Himmelsbach reports that the team's big trade deadline addition Nikola Vucevic is unlikely to return without taking a significant paycut from his current $21.5 million salary. He also reports that Neemias Queta and Jordan Walsh will have their options picked up for the coming season.
"The others are less certain, but their low salaries could make some of them attractive low-cost options," writes the Globe reporter.
"Particularly (Ron Harper Jr.), who drew a surprise Game 7 start and acquitted himself well when given the opportunity," suggested Himmelsbach.
