Reds-Cubs game at Wrigley Field to start at 8:50 p.m.

CHICAGO – So much for that proactive game-time change to account for the weather.

The start of the opener of this week's big series between the Cincinnati Reds and Chicago Cubs has been delayed by a series of thunder showers.

The Cubs claim the game will start at 8:50 p.m. ET.

Anticipating tonight's forecast, the Cubs early in the day had pushed up the original start time 30 minutes, to 7:10 p.m. ET.

The Reds and Cubs are facing each other for the first time this season in a four-game series this week. The National League Central-leading Cubs lead the second-place Reds by two games entering the series.
