🥲 Roma, Atalanta 1-1, goodbye Champions League? Two KO, WOW GKs, Juve 👀
At the Olimpico, Roma and Atalanta cancelled each other out with a goal apiece, two outstanding goalkeepers, and a 1-1 result that hands Juve ntus, in the Champions League race, a big opportunity to pull 5 points clear of both Como and the Giallorossi, who have drawn level with the Lariani in the table. The Curva Sud, after applauding Gasperini at the start of the match, booed the players at full time as they were about to go under the stand.
Nikola Krstovic 's early strike, a lovely effort from outside the box, was answered just before half-time by Hermoso's volleyed turn, with the defender looking dangerous in attack throughout the game. The standout performers were Carnesecchi , miraculous on one occasion against Malen and excellent several times over, and Svilar , decisive against Ederson in the first half.

❌ Mancini goes down injured: right thigh issue. Rensch also out
In the 77th minute, another blow for Roma at a difficult time physically. Rensch went down after feeling pain in his right hamstring and was forced to leave the pitch.
Shortly before the hour mark, another setback for Gasperini. Gianluca Mancini was forced off with a problem in his right thigh. The Roma defender tried to grit his teeth but could not continue. For the former player facing his old club, there was an ice pack on the inside of his thigh.
💥 Triple Atalanta change: the choices
Raffaele Palladino started the second half with three substitutions: out went Scalvini , Kolasinac and CDK, in came Ahanor, Kossounou and Zalewski . It remains to be seen whether there were fitness reasons behind such a decision.
😮 Hermoso on the volley: Roma equalise
Roma, not at their sharpest, found the equaliser in the only minute of stoppage time. A ball into the box found Rensch, who beat De Roon in the air and set up Hermoso, who hit a left-footed volley on the turn to beat Carnesecchi. A superb goal.
🧱 Carnesecchi and Svilar INCREDIBLE
In the 32nd minute, Svilar answered in a showdown between great goalkeepers. Incredible play from Ederson, who toyed with El Ayanoui and burst into the box with an outside-of-the-foot touch, only to be denied by a magnificent save from Svilar.
In the 24th minute, a hugely dangerous move for Roma and a colossal chance for Malen. The Dutchman, one-on-one with Carnesecchi after being played through by El Shaarawy , was denied by an outrageous save from Carnesecchi, who reacted brilliantly to close down the angle.
🚀 Krstovic from distance: La Dea ahead!
In the 12th minute, Atalanta took the lead. De Roon won the ball high up the pitch and fed Krstovic, who controlled it and hit it first time from outside the box, finding a perfect diagonal shot that beat Svilar.
A great goal by the Montenegrin, and a major mistake by Roma in buildup.

Roma's Curva Sud displayed a telling banner to comment on this week's controversy around the club.
"Whatever role someone holds in the shadow of this name, we are all obliged to guarantee Romanismo, commitment and quality. AS Roma is a serious matter."
🗣️ What Palladino and Massara said
Roma sporting director Ricky Massara spoke to Sky Sport.
"We are all focused, determined and eager to finish the league season well. A lot depends on tonight's match and we hope to put in a solid performance, and the team is taking this very seriously. Renewals? There is an open dialogue with the four players whose contracts are expiring and with their agents. We'll see, they are all still open issues."

Atalanta coach Raffaele Palladino spoke to Sky Sport before the match against Roma.
"We are focused on the game against Roma because it is very important, as it could reopen the race for Europe in the upper part of the table and bring us closer to them if things go well. For us, this journey has been going on for the last five months, and every slip-up seems like the world is collapsing on top of us, but we will not give up until the end and we will fight. Tonight is the right opportunity to pick up points and we are not thinking about Wednesday's Coppa Italia match".
